The Actor Discovered A Shocking Truth

Anupam Kher shared an interesting anecdote about his early life in a nostalgic social media post. He revisited the shocking twists that led him to where he is now. He mentioned that he had come to Mumbai with the belief that he would be enrolling in a prestigious acting school. However, when he arrived at the designated location, he was left shocked. Instead of a traditional classroom setting, the actor found himself attending acting lessons on the beach, under the open sky. Reflecting on those early days, he wrote, “The first place I worked at when I came to Mumbai on June 3rd 1981 for a job in an acting school. Then I discovered that actually there was no building or a place or an acting school! We were conducting classes on the beach!”

The actor also mentioned how he started his career at Prithvi Theatre when he came to the city. He mentioned, “I started my life at Prithvi when I landed in Mumbai on June 3rd 1981. This is the same place where Satish Kaushik’s play “Us Par Ka Nazara” which was an adaptation of Arthur Miller’s play, A View From The Bridge. The first play with Kirron Desire Under the Elms, did Look Back In Anger, Salgirah and Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.”

The Actor Took A Trip Down The Memory Lane

Looking back, the actor mentioned that his early years in Mumbai – living in cramped accommodations without fans and struggling to make ends meet – were the foundation of his illustrious career. In his Instagram post, he reflected, “Life is a sum total of struggles, memories, and nostalgia… Thank you for the love that you are giving Vijay 69, now streaming on Netflix. It got me emotional and I decided to visit a few places that have shaped me into becoming who I am.”
