Maharashtra caretaker CM Eknath Shinde’s health deteriorates, team of doctors monitoring his condition

A team of doctors is monitoring his condition.

New Delhi: Amid the lingering suspense over who will become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the health of caretaker CM Eknath Shinde has deteriorated.

Eknath Shinde is suffering from fever and a throat infection.

Shinde had left for his native village in Satara district amid reports that he was upset after the Mahayuti leaders’ meeting in Delhi on Thursday, November 28.

It is reported that a crucial meeting of the Mahayuti allies, BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, had to be cancelled thus causing a delay in the formation of the state government.

Shinde’s family doctor RM Patre, who is treating the Shiv Sena leader in his native village in Satara district, told ANI that he (Eknath Shinde) had been suffering from fever and a throat infection for the past two days. However, he added that he is recovering.

“We have administered antibiotics. A team of three to four doctors is attending to him,” Patre added.

Civil Surgeon for Satara Dr Yuvraj Karpe said that Shinde is affected by a respiratory tract infection due to which he has fever, itchy throat, along with weakness.

“His pulse rate and blood pressure are normal. Blood samples were checked and don’t show any symptoms of dengue or malaria. He was given an injectable dose on Saturday evening for bacterial infection,” reported TOI quoting Karpe.
