Today, we are talking about Anubhav Dubey, the co-founder of ‘Chai Sutta Bar,’ which is now worth over Rs 150 crore. His achievements are a testament to how an individual can transform a contemporary business into a massive success.
Anubhav is native of Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa. This 28-yr-old boy did not attend IIT, IIM or any premiere institutes though he once dreamt to be a product of any of these institutes. He also attempted UPSC but did not succeed. He soon realized that he should try another career and his passion for entrepreneurship drove him to the launch of ‘Chai-Sutta Bar’.
In 2016, he partnered with his friend, Anand Nayak and launched ‘Chai-Sutta Bar’ with just Rs 3 lakh which was his savings. He did not take any formal training before starting the business.
The first cafe was opened near a girls’ hostel in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore. He offered chai in earthen cups (kulhad) along with a smoke-free environment at the cafe and became a massive hit. As they had little money to invest , they painted boards with beautiful interiors of the cafe. It showed their creativity and passion for their work.
Offering tea traditional earthen cups in 20 flavours is a unique concept and it attracts a large number of visitors each day to the cafe. At present, the company has over 165 outlets in more than 195 cities in India, Dubai and Oman.
A noteworthy aspect of the business is that the company sourced traditional kulhads from over 250 potter families, providing them with steady employment to support their households.
This year, the company’s turnover has surpassed Rs 150 crore, marking a remarkable achievement.
