Canis Major Dwarf: Located in the located in the Canis Major constellation, this dwarf irregular galaxy is the closest to our Milky Way, located at an approximate distance of about 25,000 light-years from Earth.

Andromeda galaxy: The nearest cosmic neighbor of our Milky Way galaxy, Andromeda is located about 2.5 million light-years away.

Small Magellanic Cloud: The Small Magellanic Cloud, or SMC, is a small galaxy about 200,000 light-years way that orbits our own Milky Way spiral galaxy.

SagDEG: Located roughly 90,000 light years from Earth, the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy (SagDEG) or Messier 54 is a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way which is predicted to become a part of our galaxy in the future due to Milky Way's strong gravitational pull.

Large Magellanic Cloud: This vibrant image from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope shows the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy to our own Milky Way galaxy. The Large Magellanic Cloud, located 160,000 light-years from Earth, is one of a handful of dwarf galaxies that orbit the Milky Way.

Triangulum galaxy: The Triangulum Galaxy, a.k.a., Messier 33, is a spiral galaxy about 3 million light years from Earth. It belongs to the Local Group of galaxies that includes the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies.
