From Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan to Amitabh Bachchan, numerous iconic actors in the industry have entertained audiences to their core. All these names have dominated the industry for decades. However, did you know that there is another Khan of Bollywood who is celebrated for his versatility and power-packed performances? This remarkable actor even secured a spot on The Independent’s list of Best Actors of the 21st Century. While one might assume it’s SRK, Salman Khan, or Saif Ali Khan, it is none of them. This actor is considered a true gem of the industry.

He lives rent-free in our hearts, despite no longer being with us. If you’re wondering who we are talking about, the actor in discussion is the late star Irrfan Khan. Irrfan Khan ranked 41st among the world’s 60 Best Actors of 21st-Century Cinema.

“It’s Irrfan Khan’s eyes, hooded and deep brown, that will live eternally. They granted him the ability to weave magic, to recite poetry without moving his lips,” The Independent wrote, praising the late actor’s exceptional acting skills.

Irrfan made his film debut with a small role in Salaam Bombay! (1988). In his early days, he struggled to make his mark in the industry. Irrfan’s major breakthrough came with his role in Asif Kapadia’s film The Warrior, released in 2001. The Independent lauded Irrfan’s “grit” in the role of the warrior, set in his home state of Rajasthan.

Irrfan then gained widespread attention with his role in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s 2003 crime drama Haasil. Though his journey eventually became smoother, acting was not always on his cards. Did you know that the late actor once aspired to be a cricketer? However, due to financial constraints, Khan couldn’t afford a cricket kit, forcing him to let go of his dreams.

Before making his Bollywood debut, Irrfan pursued a technical course in Jaipur and often worked in fields to gain practical experience. Using his technical skills, he landed a job fixing ACs. During this time, Irrfan once visited Rajesh Khanna’s house for a job. It was this encounter that ignited his interest in acting.

Over the years, Irrfan delivered some of the most memorable performances in Indian and international cinema. His filmography includes acclaimed works such as Life in a… Metro, The Darjeeling Limited, Slumdog Millionaire, Paan Singh Tomar, Life of Pi, The Lunchbox, Qissa, Haider, Piku, Talvar, Hindi Medium, The Song of Scorpions, Qarib Qarib Singlle, Karwaan, and Angrezi Medium. Irrfan was diagnsoed with neuroendocrine tumour and lost the battle of life to the disease on April 29, 2020, at the age of 53.

The actress here is none other than Preity Zinta. She is considered one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood, known for her beauty and power-packed performances.

Early Life

Born on January 31, 1975, Preity faced significant struggles during her childhood. She lost her father in a car accident when she was just 13 years old. In the same crash, her mother was severely injured and left bedridden for two years. This tragic incident turned her life upside down. Did you know that Zinta excelled in academics? She studied English at St. Bede’s College in Shimla and later pursued a graduate program in psychology, earning a postgraduate degree in criminal psychology.

Bollywood Debut

Despite coming from a middle-class family, Preity proved her mettle in the Bollywood industry and emerged as one of the leading actresses of the 2000s. Preity Zinta’s Other Ventures

After her relationship with Ness, Preity started dating financial analyst Gene Goodenough, and the two later tied the knot. Two years into their marriage, Preity and Gene became parents to a son and a daughter through surrogacy.

While some celebrities prefer sleek sedans or compact hatchbacks, others opt for powerful SUVs. From Mercedes Maybach to Rolls Royce, Bollywood stars flaunt a range of luxurious cars. However, when it comes to owning a Hummer, only one personality in B-town stands out.

That person is none other than Krishna Shroff, daughter of the veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff. Unlike many, Krishna is often seen enjoying the rugged appeal of her Hummer H3. Her love for the vehicle, known for its butch design, sets her apart in the world of luxury cars.

Krishna Shroff’s Stylish Hummer H3

Krishna Shroff has been spotted several times stepping out of her Hummer H3, especially during her airport arrivals. A recent video shared by the YouTube channel Cars For You captured Krishna arriving at the Mumbai airport in her bold and modified Hummer H3. The television personality and entrepreneur confidently stepped out of the luxury SUV, which she has owned for quite some time. Recently, the vehicle received a makeover, now sporting a matte black wrap that gives it a sleek and stealthy appearance.

Take a look here:

The Price of the Hummer H3

According to the website CarDekho, the ex-showroom price of the Hummer H3 is approximately ₹80 lakh. This SUV boasts a powerful 3,700cc engine, making it not only robust but also incredibly solid and sturdy.

Interestingly, the parent company of Hummer never officially launched the H2 and H3 models in India. Despite this, several celebrities went through private dealers and paid hefty sums to import the car.

About Krishna Shroff

Apart from her love for luxurious cars, Krishna Shroff is carving a niche for herself in the entertainment industry. She is not just an actress but also an assistant director. Krishna is known for her work in Bandit Shakuntala (2025), Munna Michael (2017), and Kinni Kinni Vaari (2021). While she has yet to deliver a big hit, her passion for cinema and her unique choices continue to make her a prominent personality.

Rejected by 8 actors, THIS 2014 film took 9 years to make, became the third-highest grosser of the year, earned Rs…, lead actors were… https://www.india.com/entertainment/rejected-by-8-actors-happy-new-year-took-9-years-to-make-became-the-third-highest-grosser-of-the-year-earned-rs-300-crore-lead-actors-were-shah-rukh-khan-deepika-padukone-sonu-sood-boman-irani-7508090/ Thu, 02 Jan 2025 01:23:59 +0000 https://www.india.com/?p=7508090 Every time moviegoers hear about an upcoming Shah Rukh Khan film, excitement reaches a fever pitch. Similarly, when an SRK movie was released in 2014, it came as no surprise that it turned out to be a massive hit. Apart from SRK, the movie featured six other prominent stars from the film industry. The hint is enough to reveal that the film in question is none other than the blockbuster Happy New Year.

Released in 2014, the storyline of Happy New Year was fresh, engaging, and entertaining, keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the movie starred Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivaan Shah, and Jackie Shroff. Directed by Farah Khan and produced by SRK’s wife, Gauri Khan, the film became a superhit at the box office. Made on a budget of Rs 150 crore, it grossed an impressive Rs 397 crore worldwide.

Initially Planned with a Different Cast

Interestingly, Happy New Year was initially supposed to have a different star-studded cast, including Amitabh Bachchan. The project took nine long years to finally hit the big screens. According to a report by Hindustan Times, director Farah Khan planned to make Happy New Year right after the success of Main Hoon Na, released in 2004.

Farah initially thought of making the film which would feature Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Manisha Koirala, Ameesha Patel, Priyanka Chopra, Raveena Tandon, and Zayed Khan. However, the project did not progress beyond the concept stage.

Reasons for the Delay

In 2006, Farah Khan signed Deepika Padukone for the film. However, the project faced another delay, this time because Deepika was working on Om Shanti Om. Consequently, Happy New Year remained in the pipeline for the next six years. During this period, Farah directed other films like Om Shanti Om and Tees Maar Khan.

Another factor contributing to the delay was a reported rift between Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan. However, the two reconciled in 2012, and the movie finally went on the floors for making.

Eight Stars Rejected the Film

Did you know that besides Deepika, Farah also considered Priyanka Chopra for the lead role? However, Priyanka had date conflicts and had to decline the offer.

Other actresses approached for the role included Sonakshi Sinha, Asin, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, but none could come on board. For Sonu Sood’s role, Farah initially approached John Abraham and Prithviraj Sukumaran, but things didn’t work out with them either.

Despite the challenges, Happy New Year turned out to be a huge hit and became the third highest-grossing film of 2014.

This actor was offered a blockbuster over phone, he agreed without reading script due to Rekha, married for the fourth time at 70, the actor is… https://www.india.com/entertainment/this-actor-kabir-bedi-was-offered-a-blockbuster-over-phone-he-agreed-without-reading-script-due-to-rekha-married-for-the-fourth-time-at-70-the-actor-is-7507408/ Wed, 01 Jan 2025 15:41:34 +0000 https://www.india.com/?p=7507408 Bollywood’s most iconic actors, known for excelling in grey-shade characters, include Kabir Bedi. Not just in Bollywood but also in Hollywood, Kabir Bedi left a significant mark and impressed audiences with his powerful performances. While the actor played several negative roles, his major breakthrough came with Rakesh Roshan’s film Khoon Bhari Maang, released in 1988. The movie turned out to be a massive hit, cementing Bedi’s stardom.

According to a report by News18, the film was made on a budget of Rs 1 crore and earned Rs 6 crore at the box office. Starring Rekha, Kabir Bedi, and Shatrughan Sinha, the film emerged as the fifth-highest-grossing movie of 1988.

Did you know how Kabir Bedi landed the role in Rakesh Roshan’s film? In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he accepted the role without even hearing the script, motivated by one particular reason.

Talking about the film on Digital Commentary, Kabir said, “The role was good, and I wanted it to be very scary and dangerous, and I succeeded in achieving that. I was in America for a series with Tom Selleck, shooting in Hawaii. After the day’s shoot, I returned to the hotel and was looking out at the sea when I got a call from Rakesh Roshan.”

He continued, “Rakesh said, ‘I am making a film and want you as the hero.’ I responded, ‘That’s great, but is there a strike in Bollywood for actors that you’re calling me in Hawaii?’”

He added, “Rakesh then explained that the hero in the film transitions into a villain. If he cast a traditional hero, they wouldn’t agree to the role, and casting a typical villain would ruin the element of surprise. He said, ‘Only you can pull off both a hero and a villain.’ It was true because I had successfully portrayed both types of roles in my career.”

Kabir Bedi revealed that as soon as he enquired about the cast and found out that Rekha was part of the project, he immediately said yes.

On the personal front, Kabir Bedi has been married four times and is the father of three children: Pooja, Siddharth (deceased), and Adam. His first marriage was to Odissi dancer Protima Bedi, with whom he had Pooja and Siddharth, who tragically passed away at the age of 26.

SRK is more than an actor; he’s an emotion! His fans often hail him as the “King of Bollywood.” While SRK leaves no stone unturned in entertaining fans to their core and making his films box office successes, there have been instances when even he delivered flop films. One such example is his movie Zero.

Released in 2018, Zero starred SRK alongside Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, with Salman Khan making a cameo appearance. Directed by Aanand L. Rai, the movie was highly anticipated and expected to do well at the box office. However, it turned out to be a major disappointment.

Zero Plot

In Zero, Shah Rukh Khan portrayed Baua, a 38-year-old unmarried dwarf. Anushka Sharma played Afia, a woman battling cerebral palsy, while Katrina Kaif took on the role of Babita Kumari, a superstar whom Baua falls in love with. Despite its unique storyline, the film failed to capture the audience’s interest and fell short of expectations.

Interestingly, despite being considered a flop, Zero managed to earn Rs 178 crore worldwide. While this figure would be impressive for many films, it fell short of the expectations set for an SRK movie.

Other Flop Films of Shah Rukh Khan

Apart from Zero, several other films starring SRK, including Jab Harry Met Sejal, Fan, Dulha Mil Gaya, and King Uncle, also underperformed at the box office.

SRK’s Current Work Front

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan has had a stellar run recently, delivering three back-to-back hits: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. The actor is now set to dazzle fans with his upcoming film King. Initially planned to be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, reports suggest that Siddharth Anand has taken over as director. The action-thriller has been penned by Ghosh, along with Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya.

Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Marflix, the film is slated to begin production in March 2025. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, the cast features Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Abhay Verma in pivotal roles.

The actor began his career in 1952 with the film Rangeeli. Over the years, he delivered several hits and built a legacy under his name. It was widely anticipated that his son, Puru Rajkumar, would carry forward his legacy and emerge as a celebrated actor. However, things turned out quite differently, as Puru failed to impress audiences and ended up being labelled a huge flop.

Puru Rajkumar started his career with Karisma Kapoor in the 1996 film Bal Brahmachari. Despite being launched in a grand manner by directors and producers, Puru failed to connect with the audience, and the movie performed poorly at the box office.

Puru appeared in approximately 20 films during his acting career, including titles like Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, Mission Kashmir, Vadh, Dosh, Veer, Khatron Ke Khiladi, Jago, and Umrao Jaan. Unfortunately, none of these films managed to make a significant impact at the box office. Despite working alongside several prominent stars and consistently trying his luck, he struggled to resonate with the audience and failed to leave a lasting impression.

Puru Rajkumar Rejected a Big Offer

In 2000, Puru Rajkumar was offered a role in the blockbuster Dhadkan. He was approached to play Sunil Shetty’s character in the film. However, Puru declined the offer. In an interview, the film’s director, Dharmesh Darshan, revealed that he had offered the role to Puru, explaining that it had grey shades. Upon hearing this, Puru made up his mind immediately and decided to reject the role.

After facing multiple failures, Puru Rajkumar bid goodbye to the film industry. His last appearance was in the Ajay Devgan and Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Action Jackson.

Today, in discussion is an actress who became the highest-paid actress of the 1970s, entered the world of acting after marriage, and took the industry by storm. Her innocent looks and short-tempered nature were well-known in the industry. We are talking about Moushumi Chatterjee.

The actress worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra, and others. Did you know that she got married at the age of 15 and became a mother of two children by the age of 18? She was also known for her temper in the industry. There was an instance when she scolded Dharmendra’s son, Sunny Deol, on a film set because he was late and talking on the phone while the crew waited for him.

Encouraged by her husband and father-in-law, Moushumi Chatterjee decided to start her acting career, and since then, she never looked back. On the other hand, her father, an Army veteran, disapproved of her acting career due to the openness and physical intimacy portrayed in Bollywood films.

According to reports, Moushumi Chatterjee met renowned filmmaker Tarun Majumdar, who admired her appearance and was instantly captivated by her charm. He offered her a role in his Bengali film Balika Vadhu. At the time, Moushumi was still completing her high school education. She delivered an outstanding performance in her debut film and quickly became the preferred choice of many filmmakers.

In an interview, Moushumi Chatterjee once shared her observations about the cultural differences she experienced in Bollywood, saying, “When I came to Mumbai, I saw people casually saying ‘Hi’ to each other. I came from a conservative family, where we greeted elders with folded hands and said ‘Namaste.’ For those of the same age, we’d say ‘Hello.’ But in Mumbai, people would say ‘Hi’ and run up to hug each other, which made me uncomfortable. Once, a family friend teased me about it, and I responded by saying, ‘Why should I hug unnecessarily? That’s not part of our culture.’”

While gaining fame and stardom in Bollywood may seem easy, maintaining that image is harder than one might think. There have been examples of actresses who achieved stardom, such as Ayesha Takia and Bhagyashree, but quickly left the industry. Similarly, there is another actress who delivered hits with superstars, but later struggled to maintain her stardom and said goodbye to the industry forever.

The actress in question is someone who looked exactly like Madhuri Dixit. She created a massive stir but then vanished into thin air. As soon as she reached the peak of her career, she took a break to live away from the glitz and glamour. She is Farheen Khan.

Farheen made her debut in the film world with Jaan Tere Naam alongside Ronit Roy in 1992, and she became an overnight sensation. With her curly hair and striking looks, she was often referred to as a lookalike of Madhuri Dixit. Farheen quickly became a favourite of many filmmakers in the ’90s. She then went on to feature in various movies like Meri Aan, Dil Ki Baazi, Kalaignan, and others. The actress worked with some of the biggest stars, including Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Kamal Haasan, and others.

Did you know that Farheen once rejected a film with Shah Rukh Khan, which later turned out to be a blockbuster? The film was Baazigar. In an interview, the actress said, “I turned down Baazigar opposite Shah Rukh as the dates clashed with a film I was doing with Kamal Haasan. After Kalaignan, I was flooded with offers from the South, and I accepted them. Then in ’94, I met Manoj.”

However, at the peak of her career, she chose to step away from the film industry. After getting married, Farheen settled down and decided to distance herself from the big screen.

Farheen fell in love with former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar. The two decided to tie the knot, and after that, the actress decided to stay away from the Bollywood industry. However, she is an active social media user and often shares her whereabouts.

He was known for his power-packed performances and was even called one of the best actors of his time. Because of his impressive acting skills and excellent choice of projects, Bharat Bhushan emerged as the romantic heartthrob of India and enjoyed a massive fan following. However, as the saying goes, “nothing remains constant,” the same was true for Bhushan’s charm and stardom. As quickly as the actor climbed the ladder of success, he came rolling down.

After working in over 30 movies during his career, he delivered several hit films like Baiju Bawra (1952), Anand Math (1952), Mirza Ghalib (1954), and Mud Mud Ke Na Dekh (1960), among others. However, despite earning an immense reputation, name, and fame, Bhushan was unable to handle success. From being one of the biggest and richest actors, earning huge amounts, the actor went bankrupt. Not only that, but he also lost all his bungalows to gambling and eventually died in abject poverty.

Bharat Bhushan’s Career Peak

Bharat Bhushan was born in 1920 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. After completing his studies in Aligarh, he moved to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He made his debut in 1941 with Chitralekha, and his first major success came with Baiju Bawra, where he starred opposite Meena Kumari.

Bhushan’s career spanned over five decades, during which he worked in various movies. However, the turning point came when Bhushan appeared in Baiju Bawra, which gave him both name and fame. In the film, the actor played the role of a musician who challenged ‘Tansen’.

According to Scroll, “In his celluloid avatar, he melted marble with the ardour of his music, wooed the ascetic guru Swami Haridas with Man Tarpat in Malkauns, and romanced Meena Kumari with Tu Ganga Ki Mauj in Bhairavi.”

Bharat Bhushan’s Failure

After reaching the pinnacle of success, Bharat Bhushan’s popularity started to decline. The actor took his brother’s advice and entered into production, which resulted in massive monetary losses.

Reports suggest that Bharat Bhushan was among the wealthiest actors in Bollywood during the peak of his career. However, he eventually went bankrupt. His career declined with the rise of stars like Shashi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, and Dharmendra. Facing financial difficulties, Bhushan sold most of his property and moved to live in a chawl.

Later, to make ends meet, the actor even worked as a junior artist. A report by the Times of India claimed that Bharat Bhushan lost a significant amount of money and property in gambling. He later passed away at the age of 72 in an impoverished state.

Meet star who made her debut at 15, became the highest-paid actress at 19, was linked to a married actor, quit Bollywood to marry a…,but… https://www.india.com/entertainment/meet-star-reena-roy-who-made-her-debut-at-15-became-the-highest-paid-actress-at-19-was-linked-to-a-married-actor-quit-bollywood-to-marry-a-but-7506110/ Wed, 01 Jan 2025 04:02:08 +0000 https://www.india.com/?p=7506110 There are plenty of actors and actresses in the showbiz industry who said goodbye to this world to be with the love of their lives. Some even dropped their careers when they were at their peak. Similarly, this actress, whom we are talking about, belongs to the yesteryears. During her time, her looks were admired, her acting performances were loved, and the audience wanted to see more of her on the big screen. She made her debut at a tender age, what we call adolescence, and after that, she never looked back. However, after some time, she abruptly decided to quit the industry and even moved to Pakistan.

At 15, she made her debut, and by 19, she had climbed the pinnacle of success, becoming one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood. She held that position until 1980. She not only made headlines for her work but also for her relationships. Let us tell you, the actress in question here is Saira Ali, whom you know today as Reena Roy. She made her first impression on the audience with the film Zaroorat. While the movie didn’t put Reena in the spotlight, it was her following films — Jaise Ko Taisa and the romance-action film Zakhmee — that brought her name, fame, and money.

In no time, Reena started to give tough competition to Rekha, Parveen Babi, and others. However, Reena’s life changed. She did reach the pinnacle of success, but eventually, she left the industry because she wanted to marry the love of her life.

Reena Roy and Her Affairs

In 1976, she delivered her first blockbuster film, Kalicharan, where she starred opposite Shatrughan Sinha. The on-screen chemistry between both was loved by the audience, and they wanted to see them together in more projects. Simultaneously, both Reena and Shatrughan grew closer.

Media reports suggest that Shatrughan would often spend hours in Reena’s makeup room, and during this time, Reena, who was 11 years younger than Shatrughan, was said to have fallen in love with him. The rumours of their affair started to surface and made headlines.

Reena Married a Pakistani Cricketer

In 1983, Reena Roy left Bollywood to marry Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan and moved to Pakistan. However, the couple divorced in the early 1990s. Reena returned to India in 1992 and made her Bollywood comeback the following year.

She appeared in nine films, but unfortunately, none of them were successful. Her final appearance was in the 2000 film Refugee, which marked the debuts of Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor.

After her divorce from Mohsin, Reena lost custody of her daughter Sanam. However, after Mohsin remarried, the actress regained custody of her daughter and now lives with her in Mumbai.

From Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda to complete outsider Abhay Verma, several actors and actresses impressed the audience. However, one actor, in particular, stood out. Before the release of his film, he reportedly had only Rs 1200 in his account, but as soon as the movie hit the big screens, his fortune changed overnight, turning him into a star! He even featured in films produced by one of the biggest production houses.

If you are still wondering who we’re talking about, let us give you more hints! This actor, a BBA student, also harboured a passion for acting. Hailing from Panipat, Haryana, he moved to Mumbai in search of better opportunities. He began his journey as a junior artist, with one of his earliest appearances being in the 2019 Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30, reportedly earning ₹800 per day. Additionally, he was featured in numerous advertisements.

But his life took a dramatic turn when he starred in a horror comedy this year. When we think of horror comedies, Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2 comes to mind. However, this actor was not part of that blockbuster; instead, he made waves with another hit! We are talking about none other than Abhay Verma.

Abhay Verma garnered attention with his film Munjya this year. The movie, based on folklore, won audiences’ hearts. Though Munjya was not his debut film, it was the turning point in his career. Abhay was also a part of the super-hit series The Family Man.

In a recent interview, he spoke openly about his career. Reflecting on the year, he said, “The year is ending, but this year has seen many new beginnings. When you get the love and acceptance of the audience, it feels like a completely new life. Suddenly, your signature becomes an autograph, and people become fans.” He added, “Earlier, I was not well-known in the industry, but now people recognize me as an artist.”

The Munjya star also shared insights into his journey in 2024. Abhay revealed that his dreams came true this year, despite facing tough financial challenges before the release of Munjya. The actor disclosed that he had only Rs 1200 in his account before the film’s release. However, the movie’s success changed his life, making him an overnight sensation with other movie and commercial offers pouring in.

Abhay remarked, “Munjya was the only Hindi film of 2024 to join the ₹100 crore club without a big star cast.” On his future projects, it is reported that Abhay Verma will be part of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film King.

Kids in India during the 90s would not look up to Superman, but instead to Shaktimaan. The program aired on DD National at 8 PM daily, and children would get glued to the TV screen. Shaktimaan has been one of the iconic shows of Indian television, creating a stir in the world of TV. This country’s first superhero show received a tremendous response from the audience and became every child’s favorite in no time.

Despite the years that have passed, kids still remember the iconic characters of Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri, Gita Viswas, Tamraj Kilvish, and others. While some iconic characters remained consistent, others left the show. In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Kitu Gidwani, who played the role of Gita Viswas, opened up about why she left the show.

She still regrets the decision to leave. Talking about this, Kitu Gidwani said, “We shot Shaktimaan in so many places. There were many scary locations. I don’t know what ideas the makers had in those days. When you are young, you have many dreams you want to fulfill.”

Kitu further said, “I left Shaktimaan then, maybe I felt that this show was not made for me. I thought I should do something else. I wanted to do something where I am the lead. I liked the comedy scenes in Shaktimaan, I had a great time during that time. But then, I felt that I could do a lot more good things.”

The actress said that there are days when she still regrets the decision to leave the show.

Kitu also shared her experience working with Mukesh Khanna. She praised him, saying that he is very passionate about his work. The actress said, “He is down to earth. I had no problem with him. Like him, I also have my opinions. At that time, he didn’t know how to talk to actresses properly. I think he must have been very saddened by my leaving the show, which is why he never called. Yes, director Dinkar Jani had definitely asked the reason behind my leaving the show, but Mukesh never asked. I am sad for hurting him. I was in my passion and confusion, so I never called anyone. I am also a human being; different things come to mind.”

He not only shared a close relationship with Raj Kapoor but also wooed audiences with his performances. Mainly seen in grey shades, Chopra is known for his villainous roles. However, despite playing negative characters, Prem Chopra is regarded as one of the most handsome actors in the industry.

While some succeeded, others couldn’t make an impression on the audience. However, this one actress has a story of grit and determination, showcasing how she gave tough competition to leading actresses in the industry including Jaya Prada, Rekha, Sridevi. Unfortunately, a tragic accident disrupted her career, prompting her to leave the spotlight and transform into a successful businesswoman.

The actress in discussion here is Talluri Rameshwari, a celebrated actress from Bollywood’s golden era. In the 80s, she carved her path and gained recognition among fans. Just as her career was taking off, the actress faced a major setback, leading to a sudden decline in film offers, even though she remained the first choice for actors and directors.

As a result, she stepped away from the industry and later married a Punjabi film director. After tying the knot, the actress never returned to acting, and the reason behind her absence might surprise many.

Talluri Rameshwari rose to prominence with her debut film, becoming a cherished star of the 80s.
Despite initial rejections due to her darker complexion, she won hearts with her exceptional performance in Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye, catapulting her to stardom almost instantly. Following this breakthrough, top producers lined up to cast her in their projects, and fans began drawing comparisons between her and the legendary Rajshree.

Talluri Rameshwari left acting due to…

Talluri made an impact in Bollywood when she worked with stars like Mithun Chakraborty and Jeetendra. The actress played a significant role in the hit film Asha, where she portrayed Jeetendra’s on-screen wife, Mala.

However, her life came to a standstill when tragedy struck. She suffered a severe eye injury in a horse-riding accident, which required her to travel to New York for surgery. As a result, Talluri lost many valuable work opportunities and later decided to stay away from the industry.

After quitting the industry, Talluri focused on building her career in business. Today, Rameshwari has successfully transitioned into the world of business, running a skincare startup.

This superstar faced violent domestic abuse, was pushed into prostitution, lost all her money, died at a young age, her dead body was carried on… https://www.india.com/entertainment/this-star-actress-vimi-was-beaten-several-times-by-her-husband-was-pushed-into-prostitution-by-boyfriend-her-dead-body-was-carried-on-a-thela-7503774/ Tue, 31 Dec 2024 04:09:09 +0000 https://www.india.com/?p=7503774 Bollywood is the way for many to achieve name, fame, and money, only if they succeed in winning the audience’s hearts. However, there are instances in the industry when actors or actresses make their debut with much fanfare, but their end is devastating. They lose money, status, and stardom as quickly as they gained it. And there can be no better example of this than the tragic story of Vimi.

Vimi’s Powerpack Debut

While today Vimi’s name might not ring a bell for many, there was a time in the late ’60s when she made fans go gaga over her. Vimi was discovered by music director Ravi at a party. Due to her charisma and charming personality, the actress made her debut in Hamraaz, starring opposite Sunil Dutt. At that time, this was a huge achievement, as not many actresses made such a powerful debut.

Vimi’s Career Peak

By the time Vimi entered Bollywood, she was already married to Shiv Agarwal, the son of an industrialist. The couple had a daughter and a son. Vimi’s first impression became the lasting one, as her debut became a blockbuster at the box office, after which she received plenty of offers from big stars and directors to work with them. Soaring with success, Vimi worked in big films like Aabroo alongside Ashok Kumar and Patanga opposite Shashi Kapoor. At one point, Vimi became the highest-paid actress in the B-town industry.

An Unexpected Downfall in Vimi’s Career

However, as soon as Vimi tasted success, little did she know that her downfall was knocking at the door. After a few hits, Vimi’s movies shifted from being hits to merely surviving in theaters. By the early ’70s, the actress was forced to fade into obscurity. She then featured in cameo roles or even played uncredited dancer parts, like in Kahin Aar Kahin Paar.

Vimi Was Forced into Prostitution

Another massive breakdown came in Vimi’s life when she and her husband separated. An obituary that surfaced after Vimi’s death revealed that the actress had been facing domestic violence from her husband. After separating from her husband, Vimi’s life took another drastic turn. She fell in love with a small-time producer named Jolly. While the actress thought her love story would bloom into something beautiful, it turned out completely the opposite. She was exploited in that relationship.

If reports from News18 are to be believed, Vimi was forced into prostitution by the producer. However, somehow Vimi escaped the toxicity, tried to piece herself together, and considered starting a new business.

Vimi’s Business That Flopped Too

Vimi ventured into a textile business in Calcutta, but it too failed and was sold off to settle her debts. Reports suggest that by her early 30s, the actress was completely bankrupt. To cope with her despair, she turned to alcohol, which severely impacted her health.

In 1977, at the age of 34, Vimi passed away due to liver complications. Tragically, she was alone at the time of her death, and her body was reportedly transported for cremation in a cart typically used by a grain seller.
