US attack: In a surprising turn of events on January 1st, 2025, a car rammed into a crowd in New Orleans killing at least 10 people. The fatalities were reported after a vehicle drove into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans‘ French Quarter early on Wednesday (January 1), CBS News reported.
A truck crashed into the crowd at high speed, and then the driver got out and started firing a weapon, with police returning fire, CBS News said, citing witnesses.
“The 8th District is currently working a mass casualty incident involving a vehicle that drove into a large crowd on Canal and Bourbon Street. There are 30 injured patients that have been transported by NOEMS and 10 fatalities. Public safety partners are responding on scene,” New Orleans’ emergency preparedness campaign NOLA Ready said on its website.
