BYD India Unveils the Country’s First Electric MPV: the eMAX 7

New Delhi, India — BYD India, a leading player in the electric vehicle market, has launched the BYD eMAX 7, India’s first 6- and 7-seater electric multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The eMAX 7, which starts at INR 26,90,000 ex-showroom, aims to redefine family mobility with its advanced features and eco-friendly performance.

The eMAX 7 is available in two variants: Superior and Premium. The Superior variant is equipped with a 71.8 kWh battery, providing a range of 530 km, while the Premium variant features a 55.4 kWh battery, offering 420 km of range, both tested under the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). The Superior variant accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 8.6 seconds, while the Premium variant achieves this in 10.1 seconds.

Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles (EPV) at BYD India, highlighted the eMAX 7 as a symbol of innovation and sustainability, emphasizing its role in transforming family travel experiences.

Design and Features

The eMAX 7 boasts a striking design with aerodynamic lines and a commanding presence, featuring a dragon-face front fascia and Crystal Diamond Floating LED headlights. Inside, it offers a spacious cabin with luxury finishes, including a 12.8-inch rotatable infotainment display and a panoramic glass roof. With options for 6- or 7-seater configurations, the vehicle ensures comfort and versatility, while its third row can fold down to provide 580 liters of boot space.

Advanced Technology

Powered by BYD’s 8-in-1 electric powertrain and Blade Battery technology, the eMAX 7 integrates several critical components to optimize space and energy efficiency. Safety features include six airbags, ABS, and advanced driver assistance systems, making it a family-friendly choice.
