Safin Hasan was born in a very humble family of Palanpur, Gujarat. Here is his full story of how he became youngest IPS officer of India.

Safin Hasan was born in a very humble family of Palanpur, Gujarat. The parents of Hasan had limited resources for his care but ultimately, the resources proved to be enough and he became the youngest IPS officer of India at the age of 22.

Talking about his family background, Hasan’s mother cooked food for several other families and his father used to carry bricks during the day. However, these works did not fulfill the needs of the family and in order to make the ends meet, his father sold boiled eggs in the evening. Safin Hasan completed his schooling from SKM High School, which waived his fees for class 11th and 12th.

Talking about his inspiration, Safin got an inspiration to clear the Civil services exam in his childhood when a district collector visited his school. Due to the high level of respect the officer was showered with, Hasan got inspired to clear the UPSC Civil services exam.

Financial hardships for Safin Hasan

Life was never easy for Safin Hasan and his family. After Hasan’s parents lost their jobs at a diamond factory in 2000s, the family faced serious financial hardships but somehow managed to make the ends meet.

Later in Hasan’s life, things became very difficult when he was going for the exam but met with an accident in which he suffered serious injuries in 2017. Despite all the odds, Safin appeared for the UPSC exams and later underwent several surgeries and physiotherapy sessions. After the hardships that he faced in his life, he secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 570 the same year and became the youngest IPS officer in the country.
