UPSC Success story: In a country like India where lakhs of youngsters aspire to clear the civil services exam organised by the Union Public Service Examination, but only a handful of them actually clear it, here is a story about a woman who kept failing at the exam for three consecutive years but cleared it with a significant rank of 144 in her fourth attempt.

Educational qualifications of Neepa Manocha

Talking about her educational qualifications, Neepa Manocha graduated from the famous Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi in 2015. She also completed her master’s in economics from the Delhi School of Economics in 2017. After this, she decided that she prepared for the Company Secretary (CS) Professional exams that is conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). Thanks to her knowledge and hard work, she cleared the exam with ease and got posted as a CS in a stock exchange company. However, she realised that she deserved something else and prepared for the Civil services exam.

How Neepa cleared UPSC Civil services Exam

After all these educational achievements, Neepa began preparing for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and even enrolled in coaching classes. Over time, she made the important decision to quit her stock market job to primarily focus on her preparation. As we all know, due to the difficulty of the Civil Services Examination (CSE), success often eludes candidates in their initial attempts. Neepa experienced a similar struggle in her UPSC preparation journey, failing to clear the exam in her first three attempts.

However, she stayed resilient, analyzed her mistakes, and persevered. Neepa’s efforts bore fruit in her fourth attempt when she achieved an AIR 144. In 2022, she was inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS). So, this is how a lady who was working for a stock market company in daytime and preparing for the civil services exam in the rest of her time, cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination with an impressive rank of 144. After clearing the UPSC exam, she chose to be the Indian Public Service over the Indian Administrative service.
