The Indian Space Agency ISRO is set to take a major and highly ambitious step in its space mission. The countdown for ISRO’s Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) mission has already started on Sunday night. This mission will place India alongside countries like China, Russia, and the United States, which have mastered in-space docking technology.
As per ISRO’s statement, the PSLV-C60 rocket will be launched on Monday, December 30 at around 9:58 PM from Sriharikota. The mission will carry SpaDeX as the primary payload, comprising two spacecraft (Spacecraft A and Spacecraft B). In addition 24 other payloads will also be launched.
The space docking technology is very crucial for India as it will elevate ISRO’s ambitions to new heights. This technology is very important for conducting manned lunar missions, bringing back samples from the Moon. Not only that it will also be used in building and operating India’s space station, – the ‘Indian Space Station.’
