Sanjay Dutt, director Sanjay Gupta, along with Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Bohra, advised the audience not to watch their film. The actors, directors, and the rest of the team told people not to go see the film but despite this, a large number of people still went to the theaters and the film became a blockbuster hit. Sanjay Gupta refused to allow the public to watch his film Jung because he had been greatly disturbed due to the producer’s interference as he was unable to make the film properly. Sanjay Gupta himself had mentioned this in an interview.

The director requested people not to watch his film

Talking to a media agency, Sanjay Gupta revealed, “There was a film called ‘Jung’, its producer was Satish Tandon. He made only one film in his life. The film was incomplete, so I went and met him and said Satish ji, if we have to do the songs then let’s plan for South Africa. He had said such an amazing line to me. He said- Sanjay ji, I am not going to South Africa, you should take this in writing from me. Rest you can shoot wherever you want between Linking Road and Film City (sic).”

A big controversy with the producer

Sanjay Dutt further insisted that he wanted to complete the rest of the shoot and leave out the songs. He said, “I told him that Sir, let’s do one thing, let’s complete the remaining shooting. We will see the songs later. He told me that I showed the picture to everyone, he said the film is complete, now there is no need to shoot. I said friend, have you gone crazy? Brother, there is a screenplay, there is a structure, there are scenes. For the first time in the history of cinema… a film’s director, the hero of the film, the writers of the film (Anurag Kashyap and his brother Abhinav Kashyap) and Neeraj Vohra, all of us held a press conference outside Sanjay Dutt’s bungalow (sic).”

How did it become a superhit film?

Director Sanjay Gupta pleaded with the audience not to watch his film since it was unfinished. The production house and the actors all stopped shooting for the film. However, the film went on to become a super hit at the box office. People loved the physique of Sanjay Dutt in the film and soon he became popular in Bollywood.
