Larry Fink, the CEO of BlackRock, oversees the world’s largest asset management firm, managing assets worth a whopping USD 7.4 trillion. As of December 2024, BlackRock boasts a market capitalization of Rs 12.808 trillion, ranking it as the 102nd most valuable company worldwide.
Companies like BlackRock invest in organisations across the globe and engage in the mutual fund business where people invest their money. According to the reports, BlackRock’s assets under management have reached a staggering USD 11.5 trillion. BlackRock’s asset management operations control a public fund pool surpassing the GDP of many nations. It is important to note that BlackRock’s valuation is nearly half of the United States’ GDP.
This immense influence has earned its CEO, Larry Fink, the moniker “the owner of half of America” for his role in managing such vast public wealth.
Recently, Larry received the Yale Legend in Leadership Award at the Yale CEO Summit, which took place in New York on December 18. He was nominated by past award winners and confirmed by Yale faculty members.
The award was presented by Greg Fleming, President and CEO of Rockefeller Capital Management, Bob Diamond, former CEO of Barclays and founding partner and CEO of Atlas Merchant Capital, and Jane Fraser, CEO of Citi.
Summit organizer Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, senior associate dean for leadership studies at the Yale School of Management, said, “Larry Fink is an icon in the financial services industry and a true American treasure. His visionary leadership and constant innovation have transformed the global financial landscape for the betterment of all investors.
