Several famous foods in India are actually banned in other countries due to different reasons. Here is the list.
Samosa: These triangular delights are banned in Somalia as it's appearance is believed to be offensive to a symbol of Christianity of the 'Al Shabaab group.'
Kebab: Juicy kebabs were banned in Venice back in 2017 to 'preserve decorum and tradition of the city.'
Indian spices: Famous Indian brand Everest, MDH masala are banned in Singapore and Hong Kong due to alleged use of carcinogenic pesticide ethylene oxide in manufacturing.
Ghee: This common food used in Indian household is banned by FDA in USA citing obesity, heart attack, high BP risk.
Chyawanprash: Due to its heavy concoction of herbs, spices, it is reportedly banned in Canada. The Canadian government had found high level of mercury and lead in it banning it since 2005.
Poppy seeds: Countries like Taiwan, Singapore, UAE, Saudi Arabia, have poppy seeds due to its morphine content.
